what do you guys think of istanbul cymbals, as it has occured to me because they are not very popular in england i can pick them up really cheap! i like the descriptions of the agop series, and i can get the cymbals cheaply and save lots of money if i was to go for them? do you think it's worth it?

i'm gonna be paying £200 for my K custom dark hats, but if the person doesn't except should i go for my agop cymbals? at £100 or raise my price on the K customs? how much do you think they're worth 2nd hand?

Istanbul cymbals are amazing, I have kitted out on them,

my kit curently has

13" turk hi-hats
16" turk crash
18" traditional crash
18" trash hit
2x 18" turk chinas 1 is 1849g and the otehr is 1922g
20" sultan heavy ride
18" turk flat ride
8" traditional splash

They have to be the best cymbals i have ever played i havent tried the old zildjian K's tho i hear theyre pretty damn good!!!!

i have another ride coming over soon and a custom 22" crash when it has eventually been made!! The prices are fantastic too!!! theyre not too much more than the retail prices for zildjian zxt's and sound so much more amazing too!!

I spoke to Matt mcdonagh at Download this year about his cymbals!!! he said that more people should try them out because they will be amazed!!!

i didnt realise this spug guy from mudvayne wore a mask and didnt use his name, i was reading my issue of Drummer and there was this big deal becasue he took of his mask and used his real name, Matt McDonnah of something.

How the hell did this thread take this direction?

As interesting as it is, and I mean that, why oh why can we not have a General discussion thread that isn't drum related????

We all have a common interest, drums! It's nice to chat about other things too from time to time.

Just my opinion of course.

And to keep this thread on topic..... I actually quite like Istanbul's. Very keen in trying out some just to compare. Spug from Mudvayne plays these, and he ain't no fairy when it comes to playing drums.

Cheers,

Big K!

my friend has a video phone and when we have free's we go out side and make spin-off trailers of films taking the mick, as were all heavily into comedy, drama etc. they are actually really funny (most of the time) but making them is the best bit. we have tons of star wars ones which are hilarious, as one guy is a legend at accents and can do almost everything. so we get him doing voice over as we act out and kill yoda etc.

but really we should be concerntrating on our studies is soppose.

Lol... no offence or anything, but how can you be "into film" as a hobby? Does that mean you go around watching films? Lol!

I bike quite a lot just to get to places, like the music shop, my drum teacher, to the city centre sometimes...

Well I've helped make a few skate films, music videos for local bands etc. Last year me and some friends made a horror film that took the p*ss out of other films.

And I watch alot of films and go to the cinema alot.

He might make them? It's quite possible, I've worked on a few short films and written (well, half-written - one day I will finish it) a sci-fi horror movie script. But there's a difference between casually watching a film and really watching it anyway, I can watch the same film 10 times and appreciate something new each time, whether from the acting, the stylistics, the cinematography, the lighting, the foley and music, or whatever it is.

I don't really get art (as in painting and sculpture) much though, just can't see it. For me art is something that evolves and changes, not a fixed object open for interpretation. I was never much good at it at school, either, just didn't see the point... got nothing against anyone who does, but it's just not for me. Photography, that's a different story, but I won't start talking about that or we'll be here all day and I'll have drifted even further off topic

lol. i like you're thinking, but i'm kinda serious about my cycling as i go with a couple friends who are in the great britain team. and i'm looking to get in at feb. i wanna be in the olympics 2012. even though i disagree with us hosting the games. i'm probably gonna spend 500 on a second hand bike, so it's good quality, then replace a few bits.

I've heard good things about the 18" Wuhan china, not heard the 16 or 14 though. I like big china's

You can get very nice bikes for a couple of hundred pounds, then spend the rest on extra cymbals
