i really wanted one, but id rather have a birch kit, but the pacific birch kits are only like 400 which put me off abit, i didnt like the fact that they were that cheap, so im more inclined to get the Peal SBX as my next kit, it would be nice to have something nicer sounding than a pearl forum

the forums arnt too bad, they just need good tuning and dampening both reso and batter heads a little, they work well tuned high i find ( i have a fusion kit ) since i wont be getting new kit for like a year, then i think im going to put some coated ambasadors on the batter and clear on the reso, or some G1 coated and clears

Yeah I know what you mean about the tuning, though I have it in rock sizes. Not keen on coated heads though

i did try a coated head on my 14 floor tom, it didnt sound too good but i figured that was because i put a coated ambasador on thier that had been on my other snare for like 5 years, i might stick too all clears, but id rather have the option open , if the coated on top sounds bad ill just switch the heads round and make the coated the resos

the pasifics sound flippin awsome IMO. Realy nice phat beefy sound, for the price thier fantabulus too i preferd the maple to the birch though sounded quite better. Seariuosly they are worth considering. Better than a pearl anyday

A...guy that used to play in a percussion ensemble I played in had a Pacific something or other....and it was actually pretty decent. But I wouldn't really rank it above a stage custom or export...

I'm not all that clear on Pacifics hierarchy of drums and stuff....but I think now they pretty much have one line of drums...with different names which signify slightly different features, but they're all maple shells? Sorry if that's wrong, but it's something along those lines...

But I think that's after a big change, because when I first heard of Pacific kits (before they were rebranded PDP) they had some****lines and good lines...

yea there is like 1 line of drums, the CX LX and MX, the only thing that changes is what finish or wrap they have and what series hardware they comne with, and there is the birch kits which are the FX and FS i think, im not sure about thier names but they are the same, only the finish changes

You've not heard my Stage Custom

And just to point out (as we have threads about spelling on here) it's Pacific not Pasific...

Yamaha Drums... Sabian Cymbals... The perfect combination...
